Brothers Christian and Louie Baello — aka Dream, Ivory — have changed genres like T-shirts. Self-described children of the internet, the Lake Elsinore-bred duo dabbled in rap at the beginning, before moving on to emo, dream-pop, pop-punk, hyper-pop and music that could be described as hybrids of the aforementioned. They rarely bore.

They broke through in the two years leading up to the 2022 release of their debut album, “About a Boy,” which they followed this year with a stripped-down version.

“Milk,” their new single, is an oozing fuzz-bomb with a big, loping bass line, and, hey, we used to call this a popgazer. The magnetic track is sung by Meline Duterte (Jay Som), who also co-wrote and assisted with production.

“The first time I heard Dream, Ivory was last summer when they dropped ‘Soaking Up The Sickness.’” Duterte says. “I was hooked. It’s the perfect opener for a record. They’re an insanely talented duo, so I was really stoked when they asked me to sing and do additional production on this song. It’s one of my favorite collaborations I’ve been a part of and I’m even more proud to work with fellow Filipino artists.”

Says Louie Baello: “We had a really fun time writing this song and feel it’s a perfect reintroduction to Dream, Ivory and our upcoming releases. We’re super hyped on working with Jay Som, as we have both looked up to her and her music for a while now and she’s been a big inspiration to us.”
