Jesse Nolan and his new soul project Caught a Ghost, which he started with longtime pal (and former Red Arrow Messenger bandmate) Stephen Edelstein, has been churning out the the tunes rather quickly for a new band. Not that they’ve sacrificed substance in their electro twists on pop, rock and even a little dubstep. “Sleeping at Night” and “No Sleep in My Coffee” do a nice job showcasing just how many different angles they can swing soul. In their new video for “Hold Out,” though, they keep it a bit old-school. The Jamie Delaney-directed clip follows Nolan, Edelstein and Tessa Thompson exploring the streets of Los Angeles. If this track had come out just a few months earlier, it would have been a leading contender for the perfect summer song. No matter, you can feel the heat anyway.
