It feels like Fall has finally arrived in L.A. Good thing we have all of this music to keep us warm.
‣ He goes by Gotye, but this Aussie-by-way-of-Belgium’s moniker should be “sold out” considering that’s the status of so many of his shows on his “Making Mirrors” tour including tonight’s show at the Satellite. Experimentally indie, oddly soulful, and great hair. [See Goyte’s brilliant video “Somebody That I Used To Know”. ] After party action comes courtesy of Caught a Ghost and Lemon Sun. RSVP HERE for the $5 list for the after party.
‣ Elegant, precocious, and a little dynamic, St. Vincent graces the stage of the Music Box.
‣ The Drums with IO Echo at the EchoPlex, take 2.
‣ Firehorse , Holly Miranda, and ex-Shudder to Think’s Craig Wedren (cd release show) at Bootleg Bar.
‣ Fishbone at Amoeba Records. That’s 25 years of trailblazing, often imitated, never duplicated in your face American Ska/Funk/Rock on that record store’s tiny stage. ‘Nuff said.
