Video: First Aid Kit, ‘The Lion’s Roar’

2

Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg, aka First Aid Kit, return with a follow-up to 2010’s “The Big Black & Blue” with the track “The Lion’s Roar.” The signature close-knit harmonies, which earned them tour spots with artists such as Lykke Li in the past, are still present in the title track off of their forthcoming album, but the duo has sharpened their skill at juxtaposing sharp storytelling and eerie mystical instrumentation. So, it makes sense for the Mats Udd-directed music video to convey a foggy concept, yet also feature a strong army following them on their journey as their dynamic vocals soar above for clarity in their musical tale. Produced by Mike Mogis (of Bright Eyes and Monsters of Folk), “The Lion’s Roar” is slated for a Jan. 24 release on Wichita Recordings.
