Wayne Coyne needs to put a lid on it. Or maybe crawl outside of the plastic bubble he’s obviously spent too much time inside.

I won’t reprint all the dialogue here – follow along here or here – but the Flaming Lips frontman’s broadside to the Arcade Fire reeks of a guy who overdosed on his elder statesman status. Yes, I know Coyne was getting grease burns at a Long John Silver’s at the same age Butler was attending the Phillips Exeter Academy, but, well, they must be having a nasty winter in Oklahoma.

‣ Oops: Leakage of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ new “It’s Blitz!” prompted some changes in the release dates – digitally it’s out March 9, and it’s in stores March 31. … Grizzly Bear’s highly anticipated (and already leaked?) “Veckatimest,” the follow-up to 2006’s debut “Yellow House,” will be out May 26 on Warped. Their big tour winds up on the West Coast, including a June 19 date at the Wiltern. … MSTRKRFT’s new “Fist of God” is out March 10 digitally, in stores March 17, and it’s streaming on their MySpace. … Dan Deacon’s forthcoming album “Bromst” is streaming live at NPR. … And if you’re not tired of it after 20 years, the band will be after this tour: Motley Crue says they will play their 1989 album “Dr. Feelgood” from front to back on every leg of this summer’s Crue Fest 2 (local date: July 31 at San Manuel Amphitheatre in San Bernardino). …
