‣ “Can we make the desert bloom?” asks the question on Pulp’s website. They’re gonna try. They’re playing Coachella, the site says … Earlier, Canadian sensation the Weeknd was the latest artist whose video has been featured on the Coachella website, a strong hint that the 21-year-old artist born Abel Tesfaye will join the previously featured Jimmy Cliff, Azealia Banks, AraabMuzik, Breakbot and Housse de Racket on the bill for the two-weekend festival April 13-15 and 20-22.
‣ Alternative Press reports that At the Drive-In is reuniting after a decade-plus hiatus. I’m betting they will be at Coachella too.
‣ Paul McCartney announced today this his new album would be titled “Kisses on the Bottom” and will be out Feb. 7 in the U.S.
‣ And in local bits, upcoming free Monday night residencies are taking shape, in promising fashion – in Feburary, Milo Greene at the Satellite, Electric Guest at the Echo, Incan Abraham at the Bootleg and Judson McKinney at the Silverlake Lounge; in March, NO at the Echo and Voxhaul Broadcast at the Satellite.
