Video: HOTT MT (featuring Wayne Coyne), ‘Never Hate Again’

On Thursday, I relayed the story of how Nick Logie, Ashleigh Allard and Adam Ashe drove 22 hours from L.A. to Oklahoma City to knock on Wayne Coyne’s door and give him their HOTT MT album as a birthday present. The stunt turned into a 4 1/2-day stay at Coyne’s compound, during which the young L.A. musicians wrote a song and made a video with the Flaming Lips’ main man. Here it is. “Never Hate Again” riffs on the trio’s original whimsical idea for the trip – “these guys were either going to kill me or record with me,” Coyne said. In all, a trippy four-minute testimony to the trio’s long, strange trip.
