A super Saturday to warm up for your Super Sunday:
‣ Has it been almost two years since Haim rocked a Buzz Bands LA show at the Echo? Time flies. Between other musical endeavors, the young L.A. quartet of sisters Danielle, Alana and Este Haim and Tim Carr has been working on new music. Haim showcases some of it tonight at the Bootleg Bar, supported by Mini Mansions.
‣ Louisville-bred, Brooklyn-based dance-rock VHS Or Beta swings through town behind its fourth album, “Diamonds & Death.” They rock the Roxy, along with Conquistador and the Frail.
‣ Veteran tunesmith Luther Russell does a 7 p.m. in-store at Origami Vinyl behind the release of his fifth album “The Invisible Audience.” Tonight he’ll appear with tabla player Pial Hossain.
