And so starts a seriously busy week:
‣ Riding praise from her recently released album “CYRK,” Welsh singer-songwriter Cate Le Bon plays the free, RSVP-only It’s a School Night at Bardot along with John C. Reilly and friends (those friends being Becky Stark and Tom Brosseau) and buzzing L.A. sister act Haim.
‣ Milo Greene finishes up its truncated residency (the quintet missed the first week of the month) at the Satellite, where they are joined by A House for Lions, Koga and JJAMZ.
‣ Scorching blues-rock quartet Dead Sara, their single “Weatherman” getting big at radio, headline the sold-out Viper Room, performing with Indians and Vera Mesmer.
‣ It’s the final week of Judson McKinney’s sweet folk-pop at the Silverlake Lounge, and the Lonely Wild, Seasons, Saint Sea Hat, Manhattan Murder Mystery are on board as support. Buzz Bands LA will be DJing the evening proceedings.
‣ Long-running L.A. chanteuse Abby Travis celebrates the release of her new album “IV” with a free show at the Dragonfly that also features Alain Johannes.
‣ Incan Abraham’s residency at the Bootleg Bar closes with a bang – Harriet supports, along with Gothic Tropic and San Diego’s Cuckoo Chaos.
‣ And Electric Guest closes out its residency at the Echo with support from Gangi, Evan Voytas and Manimal Vinyl’s Chains of Love.
