Coachella 2012: Arctic Monkeys, still looking good

Who: Arctic Monkeys on the main stage
In 3 or Fewer Words: Siberian simian showmanship.
Memorable Because:“I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor” still slays the crowd. Arctic Monkeys might be the big tuna in The Kingdom, but here in The Republic they’re more like a monstrous carnival goldfish that survived five years longer than it was supposed to. Anyone hoping for a mature main-stage memory rooted in Arctic Monkeys’ latest album release were instead treated to a hard-rocking batch of impressive crowd-pleasers. Fun and freaky show, but not much beneath the surface. The ladies sure do love that accent.
What I’d Tell My Friends Who Were at Dawes: Did your beard keep you warm in the sub-arctic chill? After last night, I’m thinking of growing one.
