[Happy Monday, and happy birthday, Matthew Sweet …]
Kenan Bell, the local rapper whose canny rhymes are backed by a full band that occasionally includes guest John Frusciante, kicks off his October residency at Spaceland — also on the bill, fresh from their great set at the Detour Festival, are London’s Noah and the Whale (violinist Tom, pictured). … The opening night of Rademacher’s residency at the Echo includes support from local luminaries Radars to the Sky, Light FM and the Broken Remotes. … Venice-based folkies Dylan Trees celebrate the release of “The Charlie Horse EP” at the Hotel Cafe. … Liz Phair does the second of two nights at the Troubadour. … And Manhattan Murder Mystery heads a lineup of locals at Mr. T’s in Highland Park.
Etc., etc.: Dates for Coachella have officially been announced; the festival moves up a week this year — April 17-18-19. The countryfied Stagecoach, back to a two-day affair, is the following weekend.
