travis-pressTonight: It’s another busy Friday for shows big (Leonard Cohen, first of two nights at the Nokia Theatre) and small (Seasons celebrating the release of its “Spring” EP at the Echo, along with Karin Tatoyan and the Hectors). … At the Echoplex, it’s critically acclaimed sound collagist Flying Lotus, and to complete a busy evening at the Silver Lake/Echo Park clubs, Iraeli hard rockers Monotonix play at Spaceland on a bill that includes the Mae Shi and Anavan. … Travis [pictured], with openers the Republic Tigers, entertain at the Wiltern. … Jason Karaban celebrates the release of his “Mayfly” EP at the Hotel Cafe. … And: Chelsea Girls at the Roxy; Dark Star Orchestra at the El Rey; El Ten Eleven at Home restaurant in Silver Lake; and an Ed Begley Jr.-hosted environmental benefit at the Key Club featuring Corey Feldman’s Truth Movement.

opus-presspic_01-lowrezSaturday: There’s a big benefit for KXLU-FM at downtown’s Regent Theatre, featuring, among others, the Happy Hollows and Blank Blue. … Prog-metal quartet Opus Dai [pictured], which released a new EP titled “Touch the Sun” in March, return to L.A. after a long tour for a date at the Roxy. … It’s Anglos and Go West Young Man at El Cid. … A strange bill at the Troubadour mismatches a couple artists good in their own way, On Blast and Leerone. … Also: Mark Louris and Gary Olson at Largo; Jogger and Halloween Swim Team at the Smell; Ari Hest and Hana Pestle at the Hotel Cafe; and Blind Pilot and Loch Lomond at Spaceland.

Sunday: It’s Silversun Pickups’ Coachella warm-up show at the Glass House in Pomona. … Closer to Buzz Bands HQ, Headlights bring their sweet indie-pop to Spaceland. … And Vetiver, along with Adam Stephens, plays the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts.
