The Week Ahead: June 11-17
[Our “Week Ahead” post is back, thanks to new intern Anna. As we reboot this feature, it’ll be a work in progress – leave a comment or email with omissions. That said, here’s what’s happening show-wise for the next seven days:]
VIDEOIncoming: The Tallest Man on Earth, Sea of Bees, Phantom Planet, Allen Stone, Japandroids, the Cribs, Temper Trap, John Doe, Mayer Hawthorne, Thrice and more.
Our staff picks of the week:
@KRBronson recommends: Make Music Pasadena , the free daylong festival in downtown Pasadena on Saturday, brings Grimes, Grouplove, Y La Bamba and Cults to the City of Roses, along with a passel of excellent L.A. artists, including Milo Greene, Dam-Funk, NO, La Santa Cecilia and many more.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Japandroids on Friday at the Echoplex. Every elbow in the ribs (or at least a pulled muscle) will be worth it when Canadian duo Brian King and David Prowse play their explosive pop-punk for L.A. fans for the first time since the release of “Celebration Rock.”
That’s the Cribs’ video for “Glitters Like Gold,” above. The U.K. trio visits the El Rey Theatre on Friday night.
