For your first Monday in July:

‣ Could it be a night of magic at the Hollywood Bowl? Actually, the first of three nights. Pop icon Barry Manilow joins the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the Hollywood Bowl’s annual tribute to the red, white and blue, with Manilow’s hits, patriotic music and fireworks.
‣ The opening night American Royalty’s residency at the Echo features Chicago whiz kids the Orwells along with Tropical Popsicle.
‣ Blues-rockers Terraplane Sun launch their run of Monday nights at the Satellite, joined by the Steelwells, Sunken Ships and Family Wagon.
‣ And Family of the Year, with their album “Loma Vista” coming on July 10 [check out the single “Diversity”], does the first night of a short, two-week residency at the Bootleg Bar, supported by Tashaki Miyaki and Ali Young.
