The weekend of Lobsterfest was hot. And, as it turns out, buttery and delicious. The annual carnival-meets-feeding frenzy-meets-musical festival drew thousands to Ports O’ Call Village in San Pedro, and the tasty crustaceans were just a side dish for music fans. The lineup of local bands, again curated by Mark Sovel, proved heat was no deterrent to lively performances. Headlining on the waterfront were Saint Motel (on Friday, Sept. 14), Dum Dum Girls (Saturday) and the Blasters (Sunday).

Contributing photographer Jeff Koga, amazingly, was there for the whole festival – which not only meant that he had lobster for lunch and dinner, but that he was able to send along the following galleries … Feast your eyes after the jump:
