In a year they are celebrating the past, Omaha dance-rockers the Faint are teasing the future too. Starting Friday in Sacramento, the band is releasing a tour-only, four-song 12-inch anchored by the dirty-synth stomper “Evil Voices.” The music was recorded with longtime collaborator Mike Mogis, and, today’s announcement said, the band “has been writing and recording new music” and looks forward to releasing it in 2013. This comes as the Faint launches a tour on which it will play its 2001 jewel “Danse Macabre” in its entirety; that album gets the deluxe reissue treatment next week via Saddle Creek.
