From the moment we heard “Refugees,” it was apparent the New Limb was going to go a different route with their new material. Although 2010’s “Sounds People Can Hear” EP offered beguiling boy-girl harmonies and buoyant indie-pop melodies, their forthcoming album has come a long way from “Birds and Stuff.” Their “Inconsistencies” mixtape also showcased a sound palette growing thicker with electro-pop elements, utilized beautifully in their new song “Blood Lust,” a song boasting anthemic synths, falsetto harmonies and a powerful chorus. Says lead vocalist Joey Chavez, “This is a song about having an intense lust for goodness,” and we have a feeling their fans will experience the same energy when it comes to hearing more songs off the new album.

Solid hook! Love the “Its in my blood” interlude.
