Unknown Mortal Orchestra

With forthcoming album “//” slated for a release on Feb. 5 via Jagjaguwar, Unknown Mortal Orchestra puts an R&B spin on their psychedelic rock. With slinky bass lines and Ruben Nielson’s well-known vocals going up into falsetto range, “So Good At Being In Trouble” vibes on the simplicity of hooks reminiscent of Motown hits. In other words, the new single from the Portland-based band isn’t so much garage-rock this time around, but it certainly maintains an appealing lo-fi quality.  The forthcoming video for the track will star actor Chris Mintz-Plasse.
