Back in November of 2011, the Driscoll siblings, Bruce and Erica – doing business as Blondfire – unveiled a candy-coated video for what was then their seemingly surefire hit-in-waiting “Where the Kids Are.” Since then, the band signed with Warner, tightened the song a little bit, landed it in a TV commercial for Honda and made it the centerpiece of the four-song EP released in November, which includes the equally bouncy hit-in-waiting “Walking With Giants.” So think of this new video for “Where the Kids Are” as a do-over – a slicker but rather painfully obvious introduction to the band. I mean, can’t you see some label-hired videographer slapping his forehead and saying, “It’s in the lyrics! The kids are running free tonight! We have to have a kid running free!” Whatever, the song’s still stickier than gum on a hot sidewalk. Blondfire’s full-length “Young Heart” is due later this year.
