Saturday – the fun starts early and runs late:
‣ Eastern Conference Champions head up a big lineup on the Local Music Stage at Chinatown’s Lunar New Year Festival. The free day of music starts at noon and also features Troup, Mind the Gap, Spirit Vine, Western Scene and Daniel Ahearn & the Jones. See set times at the end of this post.
‣ Pink and the Hives team up for a big show at the Staples Center.
‣ Swedish electro-pop duo Icona Pop steps away from their current U.S. tour (where they are opening for Passion Pit) to do a headlining date at the Troubadour, supported by K. Flay.
‣ German duo Mouse on Mars brings its distinctive electro to the El Rey Theatre – it’s their first U.S. tour in six years.
‣ Blues trio the Record Company headlines the Satellite, where openers the Eagle Rock Gospel Singers celebrates the release of their EP.
‣ And it’s the second of three sold-out nights for Soundgarden at the Wiltern.
