Psych-rock quartet Incan Abraham and dreamy synth-poppers Hot As Sun [pictured] head up the lineup for the Aug. 17 installment of Chinatown Summer Nights, the monthly party that brings live music, KCRW DJs and cultural activities galore to downtown L.A.
For the final Summer Nights of 2013, the LA Weekly Live Music Stage expands from six to seven bands, kicking off at 5 p.m. with indie-pop quartet Paper Pilots, followed by the gritty blues-rock of young trio the Vim Dicta. Then it’s buoyant indie-rock from the Soft Swells, Latin- and tropical-infused rock from Salt Petal and wild-and-woolly acid-rock from new quartet Fever the Ghost. On the KCRW stage, DJs Mario Cotto and Raul Campos will spin.
The free, all-ages event also features a craft beer garden (conveniently located opposite the Live Music Stage), food trucks, artisan exhibits, a culinary stage and a monkey trainer. The live music is curated by Buzz Bands LA.
