Juliette Commagere tells Interview magazine that her new single “Big Star” was inspired by the children’s book “Morgan and Yew,” a morality tale about the value of love vs. material things. It’s typical of the themes explored on the L.A. singer-songwriter’s third album, “Human” (due Sept. 17 via Aeronaut Records). The once-upon-a-time keytar-wielding frontwoman of local dance-rock band Hello Stranger digs deep on this collection of synth-pop that both wonders and elicits wonder. Music for sky-gazing, and the little realizations that yields.
