If a human being could Make Things Better just through the sheer force of his voice, Touché Amoré vocalist Jeremy Bohm is that guy. The L.A. quintet’s third album “Is Survived By” (out this week via Deathwish Inc., home to Cold Cave, Converge and Deafheaven, among others) turns the darkness and rage usually associated with hardcore music inside out. Bohm and his bandmates, guitarists Clayton Stevens and Nick Steinhardt, bassist Tyler Kirby and drummer Elliot Babin, planted the flag for its brand of cathartic, melodic heavy stuff with full-lengths in 2009 and 2011. The new album was produced by Brad Wood, who’s worked with artists such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt and Ben Lee. Like At the Drive-In, in a better mood.
