If it’s Monday, it must be …

The Waterboys, their first album in five years “An Appointment With Mr. Yeats” drawing comparisons to the best of Mike Scott’s 30-year catalog, visit the El Rey Theatre. They’re on their first North American swing in six years and Freddie Stevenson opens.
Their tour apparently got off to an interesting start in Portland – tonight, Fiona Apple and Blake Mills bring their “Anything We Want” tour to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Gogol Bordello kicks off a run of three nights at the Fonda Theatre, with Crystal Antlers opening.
‣ Irish indie-rockers Little Green Cars swing back through behind their debut album “Absolute Zero;” they play the Echo, supported by Kris Orlowski and the Wild Reeds.
Max & the Moon kick off their residency at the Bootleg Bar, supported by Avid Dancer, Y LUV and Broken Anchor (the latter of whom has replaced the Ceremonies, who had to cancel because Matthew Cook has a bout of laryngitis). Buzz Bands LA is co-presenting, and we’ll be on hand to DJ.
Spirit Vine’s residency at the Satellite kicks off with support from Vancouver’s the Pack A.D., along with the Abigails, White Dog and Joel Jerome.
‣ And Haunted Summer launches its residency as well, this week at the Echoplex, with a supporting cast of Freedom Fry, Bogan Via and Yoya – and acoustic sets on the patio from Bloody Death Skull and Modern Time Machines.
