Above: London garage rockers the Jim Jones Revue – that’s their video for “Where Da Money Go?,” off their third album “The Savage Heart” – are doing their first U.S. tour in two years. Get rid of that New Year’s hangover in time to catch them Thursday night at the Viper Room.

Our staff picks of the week:

@KRBronson recommends: Hard to deny the sheer exuberance of New Year’s Eve coupled with excellent music. Fool’s Gold headlines the free, outdoor celebration at Grand Park in downtown L.A., and besides the music, dancing, art installations and food trucks, there’s the special 3D light show on on City Hall. Here’s a video that just cropped up of the light show’s rehearsal on Sunday night.

@Seraphina_L recommends: FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) returns to the Echo featuring a slew of excellent local bands. On deck this Friday: Avid Dancer, Bogan Via, Fever the Ghost, Hindu Pirates, Kera & the Lesbians, Lo-Fang, Liphemra, Santoros and Tall Tales & the Silver Lining.
