Chinatown welcomed the Year of the Horse over the weekend with a parade, pageantry and a healthy dose of local rock ’n’ roll – the latter coming via 11 bands performing on the Chinese New Year Festival’s Local Music Stage. On Saturday, the Happy Hollows and Parade of Lights closed out the stage amid showers from the ever-present confetti cannons, capping a day that saw A House for Lions, Raw Geronimo and Line & Circle, playing after the 115th Golden Dragon Parade and Hobart W. Fink before. On Super Bowl Sunday, despite the chill and occasional sprinkles, Act As If wrapped up a fun afternoon that included great sets from Air Life, Distant Cousins, Dreamland and Pretty Little Demons.
