There is no doubt that Morgan Kibby’s powerful vocals and harmonies have created a signature sound for her solo work as White Sea. Although she may have stolen the spotlight at numerous M83 shows (of which she is a co-writing member), her own material doesn’t shy away from growing to more bombastic levels – musically and lyrically. Whereas “They Don’t Know” still held an ethereal thread similar to 2011’s “Mountaineer,” Kibby’s new single “Prague” touts aggressive synth lines, funkier bass lines and notably more explicit lyrics to express the subject matter. The track is simply a dynamic ride. White Sea’s debut full-length “In Cold Blood” is slated for a spring release via Crush Music.
