The name keep changing, but the songs remain the same. It was a year ago that Australian shredder Andrew Stockdale announced he was dispensing with the name Wolfmother, opting to release “Keep Moving” under his own name. Then he flip-flopped, re-adopting the Wolfmother moniker to tour. Apparently, Wolfmother is here to stay – the Grammy-winning Aussie trio quietly and without fanfare released a new album over the weekend. “New Crown,” made with bassist Ian Peres and drummer Vin Steele, represents another chapter in the blue-rock revivalists’ tome: thick riffs and thundering rhythms, and plenty ferocious enough to suggest Wolfmother still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
