Coachella 2014: Bombay Bicycle Club, ridin’ high

Who:Â Bombay Bicycle Club in the Mojave Tent
In 3 or Fewer Words:Â Before the storm
Memorable Because:Â Bombay Bicycle Club’s afternoon set was the perfect show to remind yourself that you were in the desert and on some type of vacation. The English sextet played only the most tropical upbeat songs that made you wish the beer garden would let you walk out with a drink donning a miniature umbrella. Just enjoying the music on its own didn’t stop the crowd from piling into the tent though. Clap-happy fans cheered the band on as they played songs like “Luna,” “Home By Now,” “Overdone,” “It’s All Right” and more off their latest album “So Long, See You Tomorrow.” As crisp boy-girl harmonies floated into the air, it was clear that Bombay Bicycle Club were happy to flaunt their talents of melding pop-synth and shoegaze rock for an undeniably uplifting set. This would be a happy memory before the winds picked up and sucked festival goers into a slight sandstorm.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was At Banks:Â Props to that girl, but I needed something to soundtrack the sunshine.
