Forgettable Because: The Strokes’ main man has everything it takes these days to be a true rock star except the rock. “Thank you for choosing us in this music buffet,” he told a big crowd dotted with 2002 T-shirts in the Mojave Tent. “Some of you are leaving – that’s OK. This music is meant to alienate all the right people.” Mission accomplished, dude. Backed by a tight band who made the most of his blaring post-punk-inspired synth-rock, Casablancas nonetheless felt like he was running on empty. He has a new album en route as Julian Casablancas + The Voidz. And he has a new apparel line. Take your pick.
