In an interview last month with Noisey, Failure’s Ken Andrews talked about the trio’s reunion and acknowledged how surprised he was that February’s comeback show at the El Rey Theatre sold out in two minutes. And he sprung a surprise himself – the news that the band was working on a new album. Today comes the first taste – the single “Come Crashing,” released via Bandcamp. It’s the first new music from Failure in 6,484 days (OK, almost 18 years have passed since they released “Fantastic Planet”), and the song fits snugly in their catalog: From “Come Crashing’s” dissonant underbelly springs expansive and downright pretty parts. The song will appear on a tour-only EP titled “Tree of Stars” along with four live recordings. “Welcome back.
