L.A.-based singer-songwriter Zella Day has been laying low since her debut at Bardot earlier this year, but her breakout single “Sweet Ophelia” is still riding a nice wave on the Hype Machine charts. Her second single “1965” is also picking up steam, so the Arizona transplant is heading out on tour to try out some new songs she’ll undoubtedly release on a forthcoming EP slated for late summer. Her Gianennio Salucci-directed music video for “Sweet Ophelia” may not have a narrative, but it definitely has all the elements of presenting a new pop star who’s determined to make some noise and some smart moves very soon. Zella Day’s “Sweet Ophelia” 7-inch single is out now via B3CSI.
