Wildcat! Wildcat! have certainly kept their fans on pins and needles. Since materializing out of the reverb-osphere in early 2012, the trio of Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson and Jesse Carmichael released a trickle of unfailingly catchy and impossibly falsetto-laden songs one at a time, building to last September’s four-song EP. This week, though, they announced that their full-length “No Moon at All” would be released Aug. 5 via Downtown Records. Co-produced by White Sea’s Morgan Kibby (M83), the album features the lush new single “Hero,” which is what Wildcat! Wildcat! does best – layered synths, treacly melody and a yearning that can only be articulated in a higher octave. All very squishy, but irresistible. Go ahead, hug somebody.
