Dorothy Martin continues to wage her one-woman campaign for putting the real back in rock ’n’ roll. Well, it’s not exactly a solo effort, since the quartet she fronts, Dorothy, boasts three shredders to back her vintage blues wail – guitarist Mark Jackson, bassist Greg Cash and drummer Zac Morris. But she’s the one with the lipstick, and right now it’s working. After debuting with “After Midnight,” the band returns with a second single “Wild Fire” that conjures up the likes of Grace Slick (who, like Martin, also did some modeling) and the many chantresses who followed. “Wild Fire” is a conflagratory blues stomp that comes round at a time some of music’s bare feet could use some stepping on.
