Tennis-2

At one point during Tennis’ packed-to-the-rafters show Saturday night at the Troubadour, singer Alaina Moore noted that her husband/bandmate Patrick Riley’s parents had driven up from San Diego to take in the concert. Were they happy now, she asked light-heartedly, that he didn’t attend business school? The duo’s career moves seemed very astute at the crowded gig, part of their tour behind their new album “Ritual in Repeat.” So amped were the fans for Tennis’ set that when a few spotted Moore in the window of the upstairs green room at the Troub early in the night, they screamed. Main support act Pure Bathing Culture proved the perfect appetizer; the Brooklyn duo of Sarah Versprille and Daniel Hindman, who met when they were playing in the Portland band Vetiver, drenched the crowd in the affecting dream-pop from their 2013 full-length “Moon Tides.” L.A.’s Devon Williams opened the night in his own dreamy way, with songs from his latest album “Gilding the Lily.”
