Anybody who’s witnessed Harry Hayes’ wild-eyed antics and spastic dance moves in concert has to conclude there’s a party going on inside the Irontom singer’s head. The video for the L.A. quintet’s new song “The Minista” takes you there. It starts in black-and-white with the band performing, and then with surrealistic splashes of paint and costuming transports them to a debaucherous locale with dancers (choreographed by Amanda Gardner) and assorted weirdos. And then, if you doubted its sinister intentions, “Minista” ends with a cameo from Charlie Sheen.

The wild ride was co-directed by the band’s drummer Dylan Williams and guitarist Zach Irons, along with Marcello Altierio, and features styling by Academy Award-winner David LeRoy Anderson (“Men in Black, “Dawn of the Dead”). The new song, co-produced by Zach’s father, Jack Irons of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, typifies Irontom’s pugilistic indie-cum-metal. “I hit that groove and then it makes me happy,” Hayes sings, right in the middle of it. Sheen, for his part, told Rolling Stone, where the video premiered: “These kids are the real deal. It’s like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles had a baby, and it was raised by wolves.” See you at the next show, dude.
