Grammy-nominated R&B singer Estelle pays tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a second video for her latest single “Conquerer.” The track was originally released in 2014, but with a new mix and footage of Selma to Montgomery marches, it’s an empowering homage to today’s national holiday and the man whom it was named after. Transforming a ballad into an anthem, Estelle sings “I’d rather stand tall / than live on my knees / ’cause I am a conquerer / and I won’t accept defeat.” While we’re all still finishing out the first month of the year, these lyrics may come in handy.
