KCSN2014NEW-500Is anything interesting on television tonight? No matter, I’ll be flying like a Birdman to KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org) to bring you this week’s L.A. Buzz Bands Show. There’s plenty of new music to share — songs from the Briggs (!), Max and the Moon, the Black and the White, Tall Tales and the Silver Lining, Colleen Green and the Airborne Toxic Event among them. Tonight’s “Flashback Track” rocks back to 2000 for a song from the underrated L.A. indie outfit Smart Brown Handbag. No statuettes will be harmed in the airing of this program, which kicks off at 9 p.m. Below, the playlist:

Howls, “White Noise”
White Arrows, “We Can’t Ever Die”
The Airborne Toxic Event, “Chains”
The Bots, “All I Really Want”
Riothorse Royale, “Rabbit Hole”
Young Creatures, “Foreigner”
Max and the Moon, “Modern Love”
The Black and the White, “Torn Up”
Monarch, “Stay”
The Briggs, “Broken Bones”
Dear Boy, “Hesitation Waltz”
Tall Tales and the Silver Lining, “This Time Around”
** Smart Brown Handbag, “Half Right”
Banta, “Three Feet From Gold”

** Flashback Track: From Smart Brown Handbag’s “Monkey in the Middle,” which came out 15 years ago next month.
