If you’re going to do a song about war and oppression, you might as well sound metal. Muse released a new song today titled “Psycho,” and it makes the days of “New Born” sound like easy listening. It’s from the U.K. rockers’ seventh album, “Drones,” due June 8. Says frontman Matt Bellamy: “To me, ‘Drones’ are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.” The actual first single, “Dead Inside,” won’t arrive until March 23. Until then, “your ass belongs to me now.” Oh, and Tracks 2 and 7 on new album are listed as “[Drill Sergeant]” and “[JFK],” respectively. So pay attention.
