Scottish-art-school-kids-turned-London-synth-psych-rock quartet Django Django have released another track from their forthcoming full-length “Born Under Saturn” out May 5th via Ribbon Music. The song entitled “Reflections” is a good example of Django Django’s knack for genre-blending. With an old russian drum machine, they created a four on the floor rhythm that eventually turns into a more syncopated dance beat. The song is a sun-burned celestial synth-romp with undertones of trippy psychedelia. Singer Vincent Neff’s echoing vocals are made otherworldly by seemingly lightweight reverb, and the listener is taken to a quirky dimension by a sexy sax courtesy of James Mainwaring (Roller Trio). Not unlike other electro-inflused UK artists like Hot Chip, Metronomy, and fellow double-namers Everything Everything, Django Django play with elements both futuristic and retro to create a sound that can be none other than right now.
