[Tonight’s picks, in one paragraph or less:]
The Echo and its Plex will be hopping tonight, with veteran post-punkers Mission of Burma downstairs and electro kids Ra Ra Riot (with the very fun Tussle) playing upstairs. … And, yeah, a lot of folks are looking online for hook-ups for Atmosphere (the Wiltern) and the Hives/Eagles of Death Metal (Mayan). … Smaller-scale offerings abound: armed with a new EP, the Western States Motel heads a good locals lineup at Safari Sam’s (free); Mia Doi Todd holds forth at Tangier, where folks are generally nice enough not to talk during her lovely music; and there will be some head-banging going on at the Viper Room, where Bullets and Octane (who seem to have more lineup changes than a nervous baseball manager) and the Dollyrots punk out.

||| Bonus, from the morning mail, a new Secret Machines (Key Club, Oct. 30) track, “Atomic Heels.”
