acertainThis just in: The Manchester post-punk band (and Factory Records staple) A Certain Ratio has been scheduled to headline the Part Time Punks Festival on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Echo. The band never officially disbanded but has been mostly off the radar for a decade. They were once famously described by Factory Records’ Tony Wilson as “Joy Division but better dressed.” Part Time Punks DJ/promoter Michael Stock says the reunion gig was confirmed after several e-mail exchanges with Martin Moscrop, the guitarist and horn player who later worked on the movie “24 Hour Party People.” Stock says he was told the band has a new album coming in the spring.
