I did not get my hands on an advance copy of the new Army Navy album, but I can say this: The quartet [pictured] reliably channels Teenage Fanclub, Adorable and XTC, and anybody with a similar Anglophile bent should hit the Echo, where the foursome (supported by the Henry Clay People) are playing their album release show. … Hearts of Palm UK celebrates its album release [review, next post] at El Cid, with support from, among others, the Sweet Hurt. …New London heads up the bill at the Silverlake Lounge. … Residencies (cont.): Juliette Commagere at Tangier; Ryan Calhoun at the Hotel Cafe … Then we have your big tickets, for you employed fans: The Black Kids and the Virgins at the Mayan, and Kings of Leon, the Stills and We Are Scientists at the Nokia Theatre. … Even more shows here.
