Six months after a growth spurt that saw the band play a residency at the Echo, Long Beach wunderkinds Avi Buffalo return to the venue this week for a show that celebrates the quartet’s first proper release, the 7-inch of “What’s In It For” b/w “Jessica.” It’s their first effort for Sub Pop Records — signing to that label will get you noticed, that’s for sure — and Thursday also marks frontman Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg’s 19th birthday. The band’s maiden single, “What’s In It For,” has been floating around the Internet for a couple of months, but this is a newly remastered version — it sounds fantastic.

When I heard this song, what’s in it for?, I just got crazy in love for the melody, catchy. and I just can’t stop listening to it. wanna know when they’re coming to Brazil so we can know much more about the band.
