Great Northern, great lineup … great beer? Indeed

TF-deadlysyndrome2Craft beer meets locally crafted indie rock on Saturday at the first Hollywood Brew Fest – and it’s a good day to forget you ever took that big swig of PBR.

The Brew Fest, which runs from 3 to 11 p.m. at the Fonda Theatre and the adjacent Blue Palms Brewhouse, offers unlimited tastings from more than 35 craft brewers. The $45 ticket price (VIP entry is $60 and gets you all kinds of special treatment) also gets you a day of beers, burgers and bands, with a”  formidable lineup of local rockers topped by L.A. dream-poppers Great Northern, new Sub Pop Records signees Dum Dum Girls and soon-to-break-out quartet the Deadly Syndrome [that’s Chris Richard, pictured.]

It’s a rare time to be a beer snob and indie-rock snob at once. If you know your brews, check out the rundown the L.A. Times’ Todd Martens has on the Brew Fest.

Here’s the full lineup and set times: The Diamond Light (3 p.m.); the Tender Box (4); Castledoor (5:15); Nico Stai (6:30); the Deadly Syndrome (7:45); Dum Dum Girls (9); and Great Northern (10:15).
