Tonight in L.A.: Them Crooked Vultures, the Outline

by kevin on November 17, 2009

IMG_2894eastern_conferenceIf you’re shut out out of the sold-out Them Crooked Vultures show at the Wiltern tonight, there’s still plenty of rock music to be consumed: There’s a power-packed local bill at the Roxy, with the Outline, Voxhaul Broadcast, Eastern Conference Champions [pictured], Links and Nova Nueva … It’s a big Haden-fest at Disney Hall, where patriarch Charlie will be joined by family and friends (and special guest Jack Black) for a night of country and bluegrass music. … Lots of pretty folk music on tap at the Bootleg Theater Lounge, where Horse Feathers, Loch Lomond and All Spots to Black head up the bill. … It’s also a night of two Khans — garage rockers the King Khan & BBQ Show visit L.A. for a show at the Troubadour, while local metallurgists Angus Khan (think AC/DC brawling with the Stooges) play downtown’s La Cita. … Supersuckers headline Spaceland. … Also: A Fine Frenzy at the El Rey Theatre; Avi Buffalo and Spider Problem at the Mountain Bar; Jubilee at the Silverlake Lounge; the Watts Ensemble at the Echo; Nitzer Ebb at the Key Club; and All Seeing Eyes at the Viper Room.

Hey Kevin, just f.y.i.: Avi Buffalo were turned away from Mountain Bar because they weren’t of age. I’ll catch them next time. Heard they still got paid.
