Those who embraced Ozomatli for their distinctly L.A., melting-pot-of-influences sound may be surprised by the first single from their forthcoming album. ‘It’s Only Paper,” which features vocal contributions from Jack Johnson, seems better suited to pop radio than East L.A. warehouse parties, but it retains enough of the septet’s unique flavor that there isn’t the notion it rolled off some hitmaking assembly line. The song is the first taste of Ozomatli’s new album, “Fire Away,” due April 21.
