Video: Funeral Party, ‘Just Because’

For Funeral Party, the young East L.A. dance-punks who seem ready to take the world by storm, the wait must be agonizing. The band turned heads in late 2008, toured supporting the likes of Trail of Dead and Julian Casablancas and finished an album bearing the studio fingerprints of Lars Stalfors (the Mars Volta) and Dave Sardy (LCD Soundsystem, Band of Horses). That album, “Golden Age of Nowhere,” won’t be out until January. Meanwhile, the buzz builds – they recently made that NME list of the best 50 new bands of 2010 (a bit low at No. 47, considering some of the other names on that list), and they’ve rocked a residency this month at the Bootleg Theater. They also just released a video and download for the song “Just Because.” Yeah, that’s the guy who made the video, Mike Relm, at the 2:40 mark.
