Singer-songwriter Meiko may have been reared in the rural South, but in many ways she got her education at the Hotel Cafe, where she worked as a server. As a fellow veteran of the food service industry, then, Buzz Bands LA submits to you this necessary song, “You Gotta F*ckin’ Tip.” Meiko, by the way, is in the studio working on her next album with Belgian electronica guru Arne Van Petegem, aka Styrofoam, who told us Thursday night, “Things are going wonderfully.” The album is due in the spring. As for this live recording, which will not appear on the album, allow me to add you get bonus points for tipping on comped drinks.

Meiko is probably the most talented of the bunch coming out of that whole Hotel Cafe scene. Fantastic live performer with a great album.
