Jim Lindberg broke a few South Bay hearts in mid-2009 when he exited Pennywise, only to raise some eyebrows less than a year later when he debuted the Black Pacific, the proto-punk outfit with a current lineup of Alan Vega, Gavin Caswell and ex-Dropkick Murphys guitarist Marc Orrell. The quartet’s self-titled debut, out in September on SideOneDummy, packs a familiar punch, proving that, at 45, Lindberg is still adept at raging against the system, as captured in the video from Steve Guerrero and John DeTemple.
